ACTIVITY FOUR
Now that you are knowledgeable in the content of internet safety you are ready to apply your knowledge. You will be collaborating with a student from the class to create a Public Service Announcement. A public service announcement (PSA) or public service ad, are messages in the public interest produced and distributed by the media with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue. Please click the button below to view some sample PSAs.
Your partner will be assigned by the teacher. You and your partner will take one of the topics you learned about in the first lesson and create a one minute video PSA about that topic. Both of you must appear in the PSA and both of you must speak during the PSA. Once you have finished filming the PSA you will send the video file to another group chosen by the teacher. They will provide your group with feedback and you will provide the other group with feedback. You will use the feedback from your peers to make any necessary changes and create a final video version of the PSA. You will then send that video to the teacher in an email.
Requirements:
1. Your issue must be clearly stated in short, memorable phrases. Audience and purpose are clear. What information do you want the viewer to know?
2. You must have a call for action. What do you want the viewer to do? This should include information on how the viewer can help– including where to go, what to do, or how to get more information.
3. You must include information from your notes to support your claims.
